I had no idea he was adding extra actual content below the ads. 

I receive his Alert Box emails, scan the first few lines to see if the article might be worth visiting the web for, and then when I scan the next few lines I figure the rest of the email is just marketing fluff. 

The subject line issue you note only encourages that erroneous assumption (on top of his notorious reputation for rampant self-promotion). 

I went back into my mail archives and found he&#039;s been doing this since late 2005 .. that&#039;s a lot of possibly interesting content I&#039;ve missed out on.</description>
