Yep, I'd say the Caldina GT-T definitely fits the criteria! Most people would just think it is a Camry or something with different wheels, but by the sounds of it they would get quite a shock. There are some photos of a 97 model on ConceptCarz.

haha! pimpin mums ride ftw! In my pimpin mums ride history I’ve had a liberty wagon pimped out, and a Legnum pimped out both of which were very quick cars which slaughtered unsuspecting hoons :P …I thought I might add one that you dont have on the list which I believe is worthy of being up there. Its the Toyota Caldina GT-T. This wagon is similar to the legacy and the legnum in that it is awd and has plenty of power. Its engine comes from the Toyota Celica GT4 and is a turbocharged 4cyl making about 195kw. Its made its way onto my ‘to-pimp’ list and is next in line… cheers =)

I’ve got a U13 Bluebird, but not the normal everyday Australian delivered 2.4L FWD. Mine is the JDM SR20DET AWD version. Nobody expects to be blown away by it, but few cars keep up. It’s a great sleeper.

But strictly speaking they're not quite mumsy enough. I think any drop top is definitely not something your mum would drive.

Even if she did, it just wouldn't be the same to pimp it and make it into something it was never intended for. That might best fit into the Overhaulin' mold, where you take a once great car that has fallen into disrepair and bring it back to life. I think that's cool but not PMMR.

That reminds me, something I don't think I emphasised enough in this post was the term 'sleeper'. Rather than an outlandish transformation, many choose to fit hi-po gear to an ordinary car, and keep it looking ordinary. See TorqueCars for further definition.

Yep it does seem to be a quirky but popular choice, the modified Forester. Especially when there so many WRXs around, something a bit different is refreshing.

Good luck with the XT upgrade. Sadly I don't think my wife will ever let us have anything modified, perhaps the closest I'll get is a Liberty GT Blitz or maybe a Liberty STi. Then again I could always go for the sleeper approach so it's not obviously modified :)

Enjoyed the IA workshop today :)

It wasn't until I checked out your blog that I came across this page and low and behold the first image is a GT Forester my personal favourite. I haven't got an example of a Pimped out ride to share, just a love of performance cars.

I am trying to convince my wife that when the wheels fall of the XS Forester we 'need' to upgrade to the XT....at this stage I have received a tentative yes.

$44k for a family wagon, AWD, leather, big sunroof and only 0.5 of a second slower than an STi WRX...what's not to like? and there's plenty of room for improvement. I'm sure you've seen the creations from GTRydaz.com and with the help from online shops like ForesterBitz and MRT Rally we can start to replicate those JDM STi Foresters :) 'That's how I (want to) roll'
