Our Wedding Day
Published December 14th, 2005 in RamblingsFinally I have a chance to write about the big day (26th November 2005 in case you forgot).
Where do I begin? Well after not getting much sleep the night before I spent the morning with my family in the hotel suite. It seemed to go on for days…the waiting. Meanwhile Jenn was busy getting makeup and hair and photos and video done!
Eventually the video guys arrived at my suite to film us getting ready, which was good timing since we were far from ready at that point! My nephew Matthew (pageboy) had a good long chat to the assistant video guy, telling him what’s what in the film industry :)
Then a bit more waiting until the limo arrived. A stretched XJ6, driven by a guy whose name was Kennedy who I am related to a long way back, which was a bit freaky. As we were about to get in I looked up to see Jenn and her family on their balcony (enjoying some Amanti, their new favourite sparkling white wine). Don’t know if it was the “bad luck” or the height but she didn’t look too happy :)
Off to the chapel then. The previous wedding was just finishing off, so it was a it strange to arrive in the middle of that. We got into the chapel and started to setup everything. Guests arriving. Very nervous by now. Luckily Jenn arrived on time and the ceremony began. Whizzed past actually, it went really quickly and I don’t remember too much except for Jenn struggling to get through the vows (she wasn’t laughing!) and our unity candle didn’t want to stay lit!
Then it was time for the photo shoot. Jenn just loved the cameras pointing at her, and they seemed to love her too since the photos turned out beautifully. We were both quite tired by then and just wanted to sit down and relax, but we had fun.
Then off to the reception, in the Great Hall. We made a grand entrance and then got straight into eating. The food was fantastic and everyone seemed to be having a great time. The rest of the night went by so quickly too, but there was never a dull moment. With such a busy schedule we didn’t get much time to sit down and chat to people. We had dinner, then table photos, speaches, cake cutting, dancing, a slideshow of our travel photos, more dancing and then before we knew it we had to leave! Back into another Jag for our getaway, just in time too because a bad storm was brewing - raining really hard and heaps of thunder and lightning.
We went for a liesurely drive around the Manly area and then got dropped off at the Barracuda bar for our after-party with some friends. Was pretty strange to be walking around Manly on a Saturday night in wedding gown and tux! We had a few drinks and a good old chat but before too long we were exhausted. Luckily it was a short walk back to the Radisson and a nice warm spa bath. 2:30am, not bad since I thought I’d be a crumpled heap on the floor by 10pm at the latest!
Then it was up early to drive to the airport to catch our flight to Cairns for our honeymoon!
Of course we have great wedding photos. The hardcopy album is still being done (very swish) and the video is still being edited. Book now to secure your time to come around and look at the album and watch the DVD!
A big thanks must go out to all the guys and gals at 4 Leaf Films and Infinity Photography for capturing our special day so beautifully.
Now we’re settling in to married life, and looking forward to our next big event; buying a house. Jenn is enjoying her new name and going about trying to change all her bank accounts etc. And her signature - I’ve never seen someone try so hard to come up with a new signature! :)
ps: thanks to everyone who made our wedding day so special, esspecially our families, guests and all the other people who helped out.

I just need to clear something up, I wasn’t unhappy about seeing Pat before the wedding (4th paragraph).
In fact I was over the moon to see my soon-to-be husband, and not only that, it really did make the nerves disappear seeing Patrick, if only for a couple of seconds as he jumped out of view (fearing he may upset me).
What a fantastic man, I am nothing less than the luckiest girl in the world!
Glad to be Mrs Kennedy!
Lucky, lucky. He is the lucky one!
