Cars, cars, cars
0 Comments Published March 31st, 2005 in Automotive, Interactive marketing, Web designBeen a fairly busy week, I’ve added some new offers to the Renault Retail website (check it out) and launched a new data capture microsite for Porsche Cayenne (check this too). Nothing much but it keeps me busy!

We’ve been planning our last big trip around Europe, for just before we go home. It’ll be a Mediterranean bonanza! We’ll be seeing all Rome, Naples, Sicily and Malta. Possibly Sardinia and Pizza too!
But before that we have our trip to the US, we’ve just booked tickets to Disneyland, a Vegas show, a Grand Canyon tour and tickets for Dodgers game in LA.
Expect pictures soon.
Oh and possibly some video. I’ve been working on the best way to get footage from our miniDV cam onto a PC for editing, and then on DVD. I’ll export some versions for the web.

So much for the sun, the last few days have been gloomier than ever, and freezing cold too!

OK I know it’s only sun, but it just feels excellent now that spring is here! London is so dreary and depressing over the winter months.
ps: yes Jenn, I am cool :)

Just launched a new website for a client; Renault Retail Group (UK). Check it out at:
It’s a nice pure XHTML (strict!) and CSS build. And it’s accessible too. It’s been a long haul, but I’m pleased with the finished product.
Like I said it’s quite accessible, and should work on all browsers from the last few years (including Mac). But (there’s always a but), do let me know if you find a bug :)

There’s this weird orange thing in the sky. Strange bright stuff coming from it. Oh my god it’s the sun!
Spring has come at last! (it was snowing at the start of Spring here in London, in case you’re wondering what the big deal is)

It’s quite interesting looking at statistics from iTunes. I wouldn’t have guessed my top 10 would be this, but the stats don’t lie (I hope):
- The First Time, U2
- The Wanderer, U2
- Miracle Drug, U2
- Vertigo, U2
- New York, U2
- It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over, Lenny Kravitz
- Down in the Lab, Renholder
- Now I Know, Renholder
- Dirty Day, U2
- One Step Closer, U2

I wish I was a glow worm,
A glow worm’s never glum,
‘Cos how can you be grumpy
When the sun shines out your bum!

I’ve been grappling lately DVD-Audio, that mysterious format that nobody bothers with. I recently came to posess a DVD-Audio disc (Eric Clapton and BB King: “Riding With the King”) but can’t rip it to save my life.
Of course my intention is to backup a legitimate disc… of course, but there’s seems to be no way of doing so short of hooking up my DVD player to my PC’s sound card and recording it that way. But the quality of this method is doubtful to say the least.
If anyone has any clue how to extract the tracks as something useful (ie: MP3, AAC, WAV etc) do let me know.
After some research it was obvious that this format has not exactly taken off (and I suspect it never will) and that a lot of people have questioned it’s purpose, but looking into the specs of the format reveals the exceptional sound quality you get. As well as various types of surround encoding. Quite impressive.
But it would still need to be a very special album for me to go for the DVD-Audio option. Esspecially considering the lack of compatability, or should that be portability? :)
