This is a famous land mark in LA, or so I thought. Not one local could help direct us to the thing, we walked for hours trying to get to it. Decades ago they dug a quarry and then rain filled it in, but naturally occurring asphalt seeped into the water and made it into a swampy mess. Big fart bubbles keep exploding to the surface. The plastic woolly mammoths illustrate how prehestoric animals might have fallen into the tar.
